Advancing Pediatric Psychosocial Oncology Care
The Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers is a group of passionate professionals focused on enhancing the lives of children with cancer and blood disorders and the families who care for them. We accomplish this by advancing pediatric psychosocial oncology care through clinical social work practice, research, advocacy, education, and program development.
If you are a pediatric oncology social worker or a professional who shares in the APOSW mission, join us.
APOSW Speaks Out for Social Justice
A basic tenet of social work practice is that of social justice. As a profession of healers, it is heartbreaking to witness the ongoing and systemic racism and violence that has shown itself so poignantly over the past weeks. APOSW stands in solidarity with our social work colleagues to express our outrage and sorrow over the injustice and bigotry in front of us. To our APOSW members, we value the diversity of our membership and richness this diversity brings to our organization. APOSW remains here to support you and your work. To our patients and families, we remain steadfast in working with our colleagues to provide care that is driven by excellence and compassion. Each of us should continue to work to address the inherent inequities in our health care systems and communities as we move forward together with conviction and hope.
