
Massachusetts General Hospital, Clinical Social Worker, Adolescent and Yount Adult Cancer Program,
Following the initial AYA needs assessment, the social worker will meet with patients and/or families to evaluate psychosocial needs and collaborate with the AYA program manager and nurse practitioner as well as disease group social workers to coordinate care.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescents and young adults in an oncology or related medical setting with experience and understanding of the issues facing young adult cancer patients and their families. This is a multifaceted role supporting holistic patient care by integrating psychosocial services throughout the treatment journey. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone to be a part of a program that is developing and growing in its scope to reach and serve the AYA oncology population. The social worker will report to the AYA Program Director and work collaboratively with the AYA program manager and nurse practitioner. Strong clinical, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills are essential. Supervision to advance licensure is available.
